Planning to get an indoor rower? These features are a must

Ever tried rowing an actual boat on a river or lake? If you have, you would know that it is not an easy feat and requires a lot of power and stamina.

Constant rowing in water can easily tire you and help you burn a lot of calories while having fun too.

Due to this reason, rowing machines have become the best substitute for actual rowing while providing you with excellent workouts to burn that extra fat on your body.

But when you are looking to buy or work on a rowing machine regularly you need a good rower for home and for that there are few things you need to keep in mind.

Resistance Adjustment

Perhaps one of the most important features that you need to pay attention to is whether you can adjust the resistance level on your machine or not.

It is not necessary that all machines come with a resistance dial and so if you are one of those people who would like to manual set the resistance level, you need to check if such adjustment is available in a rower or not. If available, you would also need to check how many resistance levels it offers and if it suits your needs.

If you are more into challenging yourself and don’t want to set the resistance beforehand, then you need to go for air rowers or water rowers which don’t have the feature of setting your resistance and adjust according to your rowing speed.

Easy Storage

Most people don’t have a lot of space at their home which makes it crucial that the rower they are thinking about should have the feature of being folded and kept in a small corner of the house.

You also need to check whether it is easily movable or not because if you are storing your machine in one part of your house, you would need to set it up every day in some place where it can easily fit which might require a lot of transfers. So ensure that your machine has wheels otherwise it might just pose a problem for you.

Comfort

Another feature to consider is whether the seat is comfortable and adjustable and whether the foot straps can lock your foot in place during a workout or not.

You would be spending at least 20-25 minutes on this machine every day and so if it slightly uncomfortable too, you would end up avoiding the workout, turning it into an utter waste of your money.

User Weight Limit

This is an important feature which you positively need to check before you make a purchase. Usually, a lot of these machines can handle large user weights and since there aren’t many moving parts, the stress is less on the machine. But still you need to keep a check of what is the weight limit on your machine and whether that is fine for your needs or not especially if your bulky.

Performance Monitor

Check if your rower has a good display or not which provides you with all the relevant and important information like time, distance, calories burned, etc. You can also go for those machines whose monitors come with inbuilt training programs which you could use for your own workouts.
